Tai Chi Movements for Wellbeing (TMW)
I qualified to teach Tai Chi Movements for Wellbeing in July 2017 and continue to be an active member of the TMW Association. I have taught groups privately and for Cardiff Women’s Aid, Cwm Taff neuro-rehab support group, Action for Caerau and Ely and Berkshire NHS long covid programme.
For me, TMW has really helped plant me back in the natural world.
I love to practise outside.
How it works
It is such a simple way to relax and unwind, bringing mindfulness and movement together as one. There is a strong emphasis on listening to our bodies and exploring the movements so that we are always moving within our own soft limit. Practising helps us to become more present and settled within ourselves.
Although I am no longer teaching groups, I am happy to make it an additional part of a CST session if myself and client feel it would be beneficial as part of their treatment. This would be discussed between us.

TMW health benefits
TMW is a flowing 16 movement sequence that is simple and easy to learn. It is a distillation of Tai Chi and Chi Kung that once learnt, if practised regularly, has numerous health benefits.
These include:
-
Improved balance and co-ordination, flexibility and mobility.
-
Developing self-awareness and focus
-
Feeling grounded
-
Building self confidence
-
Relaxation and renewed energy.
